Cartoon Studio’s Wild West and Superhero Themed Illustrations Help Inspire “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” Specials

Timbuktoons, a leading animation and illustration cloud based studio, is excited to announce its role in two new ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” Specials.

The creative services donated were part of Timbuktoons’ Cartoons With A Cause project.

Timbuktoons, a leading animation and illustration cloud based studio, collaborated with people across the nation, including the design team from the show, to produce custom illustrated room murals for two deserving families. Their donation of creative services is part of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” Lincolnton, North Carolina and San Antonio, Texas builds. Previously they worked on the Augusta, Georgia build.

“One of our core values at Timbuktoons is ‘childhood is important’ and donating our time and skills to the EM:HE builds fits with who we are as a company” said owner and founder, Todd Hampson.

Since day one, Timbuktoons has worked closely with organizations across the globe that focus on strengthening and encouraging children through creative media.

“We’re just big kids, so it was really fun to tap into our inner child and work on projects that will encourage creativity and play for two great children,” said Sean Copley, Creative Director. “Plus, we got to design wall murals with three of our favorite things, Toy Story, robots and superheroes.”

For the Lincolnton EM:HE build, Timbuktoons worked with the design team in LA to create a custom illustrated and decorated room that portrays the child as creator, artist, superhero and star of his own show.

“It was a small way to invest in a young artist and help keep creative juices flowing into the future,” said Hampson

For the San Antonio EM:HE build they were privileged to incorporate characters from Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story into a wild west themed wall treatment complete with real train sets.

“The stories and characters of Disney/Pixar have had a profound impact on us as artists and as dads,” said Copley.

“It was a special honor to design with something that’s inspired and empowered us for years, with the hopes of inspiring this deserving family also.”
